Eat grass-fed meat for better health!
Jan 05, 2009 - 9:49 AM - by Karen
I am always going on about the great taste of the butter I buy from US Wellness Meats, a.k.a. Grassland Beef, made from grass-fed milk cows, but there is more to it than taste. There is a lot of scientific evidence that says grass-fed meat and dairy products are not only better for you than grain-fed, they can be even better for you than wild FISH (which now carries a significant mercury posioning risk). If you are like me and aren't a big fish fan anyway, grass-fed beef is THE alternative.
US Wellness also has a terrific newsletter! Here are some nippets from their latest. If you are not a subscriber, I urge you to sign up for the great info they provide on a regular basis! Like the following:

  • Family Meals Increase Kids' Test Scores And Decrease Emotional Problems - article follows
  • Veal Rack Roast Recipe - follows
  • Ask Dr. Serrano - letter about connection between red meat and colon cancer follows
  • Research Shows You Have The Power To Make Yourself Happy - article follows

FLASHBACK: Low-Carb Sukiyaki from 1966 - This is a recipe I originally adapted for the "Flashback" page of my old newsletter. I just ran across it while reorganizing my DietPro software database, and while deciding to make it for myself very soon, realized that I haven't uploaded a lot of similarly adapted recipes to this site yet. What better time to share induction-level recipes than January of ANY year?! [READ MORE]
